BA Interior Arch (Hons)

KMDO is an emerging and thoughtful design practice dedicated to crafting interiors that resonate deeply with the people and places they serve. Founded by Katherine Malouf, the studio represents a unique bridge between the vibrant, light-filled innovation of Melbourne design and the rich architectural heritage of the North West of England. With a First Class Honours degree in Interior Architecture from Monash University and fifteen years of global experience, Katherine brings a sophisticated, technical perspective to every project. Her career has been defined by tenures at some of the world’s most prestigious design houses, including Fender Katsalidis and Fiona Lynch in Australia, as well as Brinkworth Design and SHH in London.

The KMDO design philosophy is anchored in the concept of "spaces for real life"—environments that foster genuine connection and well-being. Katherine’s approach is a delicate study in balance, where romantic, soulful narratives meet pragmatic, buildable solutions. By blending the intimate comforts of home with the textures and rhythms of the natural world, the studio creates spaces that feel both ethereal and grounded. Whether working within the residential, retail, hospitality or wellness sectors, the goal remains the same: to design interiors that are not only visually arresting but technically resolved and deeply human.
